17-U Illinois Ice Battle Back Strong Before Falling In The 17-U Silver Division Title Game At The Spice Run N' Slam In Fort Wayne, Indiana
Led by Rajsaun Thompson and Kendrick Morse, the 17-U Illinois Ice advanced all the way the championship game of the Silver Division of the Spiece Run N' Slam before falling to the Waterloo Wildcats.
After going 1-2 in pool play, the Ice battled back strong, made a statement, and recorded wins over the Indy Bearcats, Arkansas Hawks, Team NLP and Salt Lake Metro before falling to Waterloo in the Silver Division championship game.
The Ice were once again led by 5-7 point guard Kendrick Morse (Rich South) who runs the show, and sets the tempo for the squad. Rajsaun Thompson (T.F. South/Bloom) also had a big weekend for the Ice. Paris Carter (T.F. South) and Shea Sumpter (Rich East) provide the muscle inside for the Ice.
6-0 guard Jamere Dismukes (Rich East) stands out defensively for the squad which also gets major contributions from Larnell Pillow (Rich South), LaKeem Trotter (Chase), Keith Sutton (Rich South) and Carte Pennington (Rich South).
The Ice played a bit shorthanded with Carlton Guyton (Rich South) playing only on Friday, and missing the balance of the weekend due to the prom. Stephen O'Neal (Rich East) missed the weekend due to the prom.
