Class of 2008 Geneseo star Tyler Storm has given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball for head coach Ricardo Patton, and Northern Illinois University. Storm ranks as one of the top Class of 2008 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.

Storm, a 6-7 forward, is a highly versatile player who makes things happen both inside and outside. Storm, who received a total of nine Division I scholarship offers, was one of the top players on Iowa-based Martin Brothers on the spring and summer travel team circuit.

Storm cites a number of reasons for selecting Northern Illinois including the opportunity for immediately playing time, the chance to play close to home at a school within the state of Illinois, the tremendous academic services and environment at NIU, and the tremendous job done by head coach Ricardo Patton and his staff during the recruiting process.

Ricardo Patton and his staff continue to sizzle on the recruiting trail. Assistant coach Sundance Wilks put in a considerable amount of time in the recruitment of Storm. Storm joins a 2008 Northern Illinois recruiting class that already includes Chicago Von Steuben star Mike DiNunno.
