Playoffs Are Now Off And Running At The 2nd Annual Chicago Summer Classic Presented By ChicagoHoops.com With Tight Games Ruling The Early Action
The tournament is now off and running at the 2nd Annual Chicago Summer Classic presented by ChicagoHoops.com, and has already provided some great battles including a double-overtime tilt between RBS and the Iowa Barnstormers.
In the 16-U Gold Division Playoffs the Iowa Barnstormers defeated the Illinois Bobcats in a game that saw the Bobcats fall short after coming back from nine points down late in the contest.
Team NLP defeated Orange Crush 47-46 after draining a three-point basket late in the game after trailing 46-44. Jordan Harris (Oswego) sealed the win with a steal with just under 10 seconds to play. The Chicago Demons defeated Illinois Old School to advance to round two.
In the 17-U Gold Division Playoffs, the V2F Conquerors knocked off the Windy City Spartans 63-60 on a Terrance Bridgeman three-point basket at the buzzer. The Illinois Flames continued their impressive run with big win over a talented Spiece Mo-Kan team to advance to round two. TABA defeated the Illinois Bobcats.
The RBS All-Stars knocked off the Iowa Barnstormers in double-overtime. Troy Snyder (Bolingbrook), Russell Burns (Bolingbrook), Billy Molinari (Peoria Christian) and Jelani Johnson (Waubonsee Valley) all played strong for RBS against a big and talented Iowa Barnstormers team that is loaded across their frontline.
The playoffs will continue throughout the day, and into the evening.
