The Illinois Warriors have advanced to the championship game of the 17-U SuperShowcase in Orlando, Florida after taking out highly regarded Boo Williams (VA) in the semifinals. The Warriors will now play Northwest Indiana-based SYF for the championship today.

The Warriors trailed by 10 points late in the fourth quarter before Jon Scheyer (Glenbrook North) led a furious comeback to send the game into overtime. Howard Little (Rich Central) hit several big shots for the Warriors to help key the upset.

Don Lawson (Chicago Leo) also gave the Warriors some huge minutes inside after both Manual Cass (Carbondale) and Bill Cole (Peoria Richwoods) both fouled out.

The Warriors have used a solid team effort to fuel their drive, and will play Northwest Indiana-based SYF for the championship at 2:00pm this afternoon.
