Head Coach John Beilein, And The University Of Michigan Score A Major Recruiting Coup, Land Sharpshooting Class Of 2009 Lake Forest Star Matt Vogrich Of Full Package Athletics
Class of 2009 Lake Forest High School star Matt Vogrich of Full Package Athletics has given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball for head coach John Beilein, and the University of Michigan. Vogrich ranks as one of the top 2009 prospects in the country.
Vogrich, a 6'4" shooting guard, established himself as one of the premier long range shooters in the country with a series of dazzling performances during the July Evaluation Period with Full Package.
Vogrich opened the month of July by sizzling at both the Adidas Take 5ive Tournament in Ohio, and also at the Chicago Summer Classic en route to picking up a long line of scholarship offers from the likes of Michigan, Wake Forest, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Stanford, Colorado, Iowa and Northwestern just to name a few.
In the end, Vogrich opted to play in the Big 10 for the University of Michigan after taking an official visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend. Michigan's offense places a premium on shooting the basketball, and thus provides the ideal fit for Vogrich, who joins a class that already includes Darius Morris and Jordan Morgan.
Mary Vogrich, the mother of Matt Vogrich, confirmed his commitment to Michigan this evening, and noted to ChicagoHoops.com that both she, and Matt's father are thrilled that he will be playing in the Big 10 for Coach Beilein.
Vogrich, who is also a stellar student in the classroom, can now focus his full attention on his senior year at Lake Forest, where he will open the season as a bona fide candidate for Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Illinois, and will again be the leader of a talented Lake Forest High School team.
