The 17-U Illinois Wolves will unveil 6'9" import John Wilkens, and will also be moving Class of 2010 Glenbrook North star Alex Dragicevich up to the 17-U team for the balance of the July Evaluation Period. The Wolves will open on Tuesday at the Reebok Summer Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Injuries have slowed both the 17-U and 16-U Illinois Wolves throughout both the spring and summer travel team circuit. 6'9" John Wilkins comes to the Wolves from France, and is the son of Jeff Wilkens, a 7-footer who played in the NBA for 10 years with the Utah Jazz.

Mike Mullins of the Illinois Wolves describes Wilkens as a player who is an outstanding shooter with great size, athleticism and good passing skills. He is an uncommitted 2008 prospect who holds dual citizenship.

The addition of 6'6" Alex Dragicevich will also give the 17-U Wolves a boost. Dragicevich also brings size, and ranks as one of the top shooters in the state of Illinois.

The Wolves will open this week at the Reebok Summer Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday, and will then head to Arizona to finish out the month at the Duel in the Desert, which has a loaded field of 32 competing teams.

At Reebok, the Coaches Packet/Program will have an error. Pool H shows Illinois Wolves-Carpenter, and Pool P shows 17-U Illinois Wolves. They should be reversed. Pool H will be the 17-U Wolves that are coached by Mike Mullins, and will feature Joseph Bertrand, Diamond Taylor and the new additions of Alex Dragicevich and John Wilkins. Pool P will actually be Illinois Wolves-Carpenter. The Illinois Wolves-Carpenter will feature Class of 2011 star Chasson Randle (Rock Island) playing up alongside of Wayne Simon (Fenwick) and Rahjan Muhammad (Neuqua Valley).
