Class of 2006 In Illinois Is Beginning To Nicely Take Shape
Brian Stinnette January 9, 2004 Email Questions/Comments To [email protected] The Class of 2006 in the state of Illinois is starting to nicely take shape. In addition to Jon Scheyer (Glenbrook North), a number of other prospects also appear to hold great promise for the future. 6-6 guard Jon Scheyer of Glenbrook North heads everyone’s list of Class of 2006 prospects in Illinois. In fact, Scheyer is one of the top 2006 prospects in the country. However, Scheyer isn’t the only high caliber prospect in the 2006 class. 5-10 point guard Sherron Collins of Chicago Crane has point guard skills and instincts far beyond his years. Collins is strong, and always seems to deliver the basketball exactly where it is supposed to be. A true floor leader with an extremely high basketball IQ. 6-6 forward Joevan Catron of Thornton is equally impressive with his strength, athleticism and versatility. Catron cracked the Thornton starting lineup as a freshman and has never looked back. Catron is a big time player! 6-3 point guard Jeremy Nash of Marist is rising fast. Nash is strong, athletic and likely to still grow another inch or two. Jeremy Nash isn’t a household name yet, but soon will be. Lots of up upside potential here! Other intriguing 2006 prospects include 6-2 guard Chris Singletary (Farragut), 6-2 guard Jonathon Peoples (St. Joseph’s), 6-4 small forward Devan Bawinkle (Winnebago), 6-5 small forward Andre Gullens (Chicago Harlan), 5-10 point guard Will Walker (Romeoville) and 6-5 shooting guard Paul Bayer (Moline). |
