Bloom Township standout Austin Richie has decided to do a postgraduate season at prep school heavyweight Bosco Institute (IN).
Richie, a 6’5 forward, was signed to play for Division II St. Cloud State (MN).
Richie led Bloom to the Richards 4A regional title game where he scored 36 points including 6 three-pointers in a loss to Alonzo Verge (43 points) and Thornton.
Richie joins a Don Bosco program that has had great recent success with Chicago south suburban basketball talent including Rich South’s Malik Osborne (Rice) and Lincoln-Way East’s Kyle McDermed (Western Michigan) who earned their Division I opportunities this past season.
I'd like to thank Coach Reimer and the St. Cloud coaching staff for everything, but I've decided to attend Prep School at Don Bosco Prep.
