Team
1. Meanstreets
Runner-up finish at the loaded Adidas May Classic puts Meanstreets back on top. Jerel McNeal (Hillcrest) is fearless on both ends of the floor. Brandon Ewing (Chicago Julian) is having a very strong spring. Maurice Acker (Hillcrest) is always steady. Joevan Catron (Thornton), Mike Robinson (Chicago Hales Franciscan), Donnell Lyons (Thornton) and Brandon Dagans (Thornton) provide added support.
2. Illinois Wolves
Breezed through the field at their own Reebok Challenge before facing a gritty Full Package squad. Will get their first test since the Kingwood Classic over Memorial Day Weekend at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions. Bobby Frasor (Chicago Brother Rice), Bryan Mullins (Downers Grove South), Mike Davis (Chicago Gordon Tech) and Sead Odzic (Niles West) are the Big 4. Mason Stewart (Waubonsie Valley), Ryan Sharp (Plainfield) and Peter Flowers (Fenwick) provide great depth.
2. Illinois Warriors
The Warriors have played the toughest schedule in the country this spring, and have responded with a runner-up finish at Boo Williams, and two semifinals runs at Spiece and the Adidas May Classic. Julian Wright (Homewood-Flossmoor), Jon Scheyer (Glenbrook North), Jamar Smith (Peoria Richwoods), Josh Tabb (Century) and Phillip Perry (Proviso East) are the big guns.
4. Illinois Fire
Struggled at the Adidas May Classic following a big win at the Spiece Run-N-Slam. Team is capable of playing with anyone when they are on their game. Nate Minnoy (Chicago Hales Franciscan), DeAndre Thomas (Chicago Westinghouse) and Tony Freeman (St. Joseph’s) lead the way. Jeremy Pargo (Chicago Robeson), Robert Eppinger (Rockford Jefferson) and Jeremiah Bryant (Chicago Harlan) are also big.
5. Full Package
Big effort at the Illinois Wolves Reebok Challenge fell just short. Marcus Green (Leyden) is a big time player. D.J. Posley (Homewood-Flossmoor) was huge against the Wolves. Aaron Jimenez (Leyden), Adam Powers (Lyons) and Max Kaplan (Chicago St. Ignatius) are big contributors.
6. Rising Stars
Played well to open the season at the Las Vegas Easter Classic. Look for this team to get better as the summer wears on. Emmanuel Gaiter (Waukegan), Grant Suprenant (Palatine), Mike Kolze (Lake Zurich) and Ryan Paxson (Lake Forest) lead the way.
7. Old Gold
Antonio Wiltz always gets his team to peak late in the year. Raphael Scott (Chicago Morgan Park) and Johnny Harris (Chicago Vocational) are key.
8. Team Illinois
Dodie Dunson (Bloomington) and Brandon Holtz (Bloomington) are the top guns.
