Ollie Bailey To Rutgers, Tommie Liddell To Saint Louis

Brian Stinnette
October 6, 2003

Chicago Farragut’s Ollie Bailey and Tommie Liddell of East Saint Louis, two of the Top 12 Class of 2004 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois have given verbal commitments. Bailey will attend Rutgers, while Liddell has opted to verbal with Saint Louis.

Bailey, a 6-8 power forward, has built a reputation as a tireless rebounder. He is the second Illinois product to verbal to a Big East school over the past week. West Aurora’s Justin Cerasoli orally committed to Seton Hall last week. Bailey played on the summer AAU circuit with the Illinois Wolves.

Liddell, a 6-5 guard/forward, could prove to be a steal for Saint Louis. In limited action this summer, Liddell caught the attention of a number of high major programs. While playing for the St. Louis Eagles AAU team, Liddell was an All-Tournament selection at the prestigious Boo Williams Invitational this spring.

Peoria Central’s Shaun Livingston, and Jamarcus Ellis of Chicago Westinghouse are the only Top 10 Class of 2004 prospects still left on the board.
