Top Backcourt Duo’s In The State Of Illinois

Here is a ranking of the top backcourt duo’s in the state. The Peoria Central duo of Shaun Livingston (Duke) and Brandon Lee (Northwestern) continues to lead as the top duo in the state. 1. Peoria Central Shaun Livingston and Brandon Lee 6-7 Shaun Livingston (Duke) reigns as the top point guard in the United States. 6-1 Brandon Lee (Northwestern) is tough as nails, and does some of everything on the basketball court. The duo has repeated proven itself against some of the top teams in the country. 2. Hillcrest Maurice Acker and Jerel McNeal The 5-8 Acker, and 6-2 McNeal may have the best chemistry among the backcourt duo’s. Acker is a stellar ball distributor who is at his best driving to hole, and dishing off to teammates. McNeal is a superb all-around talent who is capable of taking over a game on both ends of the floor. 3. West Aurora Justin Cerasoli and Jaeh Thomas The 6-5 Cerasoli has sacrificed his own offensive production for the good of the team, but remains one of the top point guards in the country. Thomas has put himself back on the basketball map with solid play on both ends of the floor. 4. Chicago Brother Rice Bobby Frasor and Dave Telander One of the best coached teams in the state. 6-3 Bobby Frasor is both a superb decision-maker and shooter. 6-1 Dave Telander has been superb all season long, and has established himself as one of the best pure shooters in the state of Illiois. 5. Belleville West J.B. Jones and Xavier Price Belleville West has surpassed the lofty expectations that were placed upon them this year. 6-1 senior J.B. Jones has a solid all-around game. 6-4 senior Xavier Price (Purdue) brings tremendous athleticism and scoring ability. 6. Hoffman Estates Johnny Reibel and Bryan Mead Hoffman Estates has been shutting down opponents defensively with an attack that starts with it’s backcourt. 5-10 senior Johnny Reibel (Rollins) is jet-quick, and a deadly shooter. 6-4 senior Bryan Mead ranks among the best pure shooters in the state. 7. Ullin Century Ray Nelson and Josh Tabb The best Class A backcourt tandem in the state. Ray Nelson took his game to another level when Tabb was out with a wrist injury. Tabb is a superb offensive performer, and one of the elite Class of 2005 prospects in the state of Illinois. 8. Niles West Jarryd Loyd and Sead Odzic Niles West is bidding for a trip downstate. Jarryd Loyd (Valparaiso) is a steady and quick point guard with aggressive on-the-ball defensive skills. Odzic remains one of the deadliest shooters in the state, and is capable of singlehandedly shooting down an opponent. |
