Michael Thompson Decides To Transfer Out Of Duke Basketball Program
Chicago Hoops December 2, 2003 Email Questions/Comments To [email protected] Former McDonald’s All-American and Providence Catholic star Michael Thompson has decided to transfer out of the Duke basketball program. Thompson, a sophomore, was playing less than five minutes per game this season for Duke. Thompson, a 6-10 center, played sporadically as freshman, but was expected to see his playing time dramatically increase this season with Casey Sanders gone to graduation. It didn’t happen as fellow sophomore Sheldon Williams and Shavlik Randolph are getting the bulk of the minutes in the post. In three games this season, Thompson averaged 2.3 points and 0.3 rebounds per contest. Thompson reportedly considered transferring last year as a freshman, but opted to remain at Duke. He is expected to complete the fall semester at Duke while he evaluates his collegiate options. |
