Add Jabari Brown To List Of Stud Freshman Point Guards

Brian Stinnette
April 23, 2003

Point guard Jabari Brown of Chicago Fenger has established himself as one of the elite freshman floor generals in the state of Illinois.

The 6-0 Brown is expected to be a key component to a young and highly promising Fenger team. Fenger arguably has as much young, future high major talent of any school in the state. Their roster also features 7-0 sophomore Clarence Holloway, 6-7 sophomore Jeremiah Bryant, Brown and 6-8 freshman Clint Williams.

Brown is a highly talented young player. He is a strong penetrator who exudes confidence on the basketball court. In an early spring match-up against West Aurora’s highly regarded Justin Cerasoli, Brown refused to back down. Brown has a good handle, but must work on going to his left. He can shoot with range and is a good athlete.

Injuries, youth and a roster shake up pushed Fenger to a 8-21 finish in 2002-03. Look for Fenger to possibly reverse that record next year as they storm the Public League’s Blue Division with Jabari Brown leading the way.
