Recruitment Of Kyle Carrabine Beginning To Heat Up

Brian Stinnette
August 26, 2003

The recruitment of Neuqua Valley’s Kyle Carrabine is beginning to heat up. Since the July evaluation period, the 6-7 sharpshooter has begun to hear from several more schools, and has picked up a couple of more scholarship offers.

Carrabine, who led the Illinois Wolves in scoring at the Mullens Tournament in Kansas City, is now drawing interest from Long Beach State, George Mason, Lafayette, William & Mary and Colgate. William & Mary and Colgate, which are outstanding academic schools, have both already come forward with scholarship offers. Weber State has already offered, as did Bradley before they added a pair of 2004 recruits. Yale has also informed Carrabine of their desire to have him join their team next year. Columbia, Princeton, Rice, Bowling Green and Western Illinois are continuing to show Carrabine a lot of interest.

Carrabine told Chicago Hoops that he is going to continue to talk to schools and evaluate opportunities. He is looking forward to taking some visits in September, and would like to make a decision and sign in November.

The 6-7 Carrabine is an outstanding shooter with range that extends out beyond the three-point arc. Carrabine, who plays guard and forward, may still be growing, and could top out at 6-9.
