Neuqua Valley’s Kyle Carrabine has given a verbal commitment to play college basketball for William & Mary. Carrabine, one of the top long-range shooters in the state of Illinois, will be a nice addition to a young Colonial Athletic League team.

Carrabine, who stands 6-7, was recruited by William & Mary as a shooting guard. Carrabine has built a solid reputation as big time shooter with range. Carrabine is the first recruit for William & Mary for the Class of 2004.

Carrabine selected William & Mary over Bowling Green and Colgate. He was also receiving interest from Penn and Yale of the Ivy League. Carrabine told Chicago Hoops that he liked the players, the coaching staff and the fact that their was a lot to do in the area. He also really liked assistant coach Joe Wolf, who was a former star at North Carolina.

Carrabine, who earlier this year wrote a Player Journal for Chicago Hoops, is expected to lead Neuqua Valley this year as they battle East Aurora, Waubonsie Valley and Lake Park for the Upstate Eight Conterence title.
