Player Journal: Kyle Carrabine Of Neuqua Valley

Kyle Carrabine
June 4, 2003

Follow along as 6-7 Neuqua Valley swingman Kyle Carrabine, one of the Top 20 Class of 2004 prospects in the state of Illinois, gives us an inside look at his recruitment, game performances and his workout routine in his player journal.

The month of June is prime time for me to work on my game individually since it is really a dead month from a recruiting standpoint. The Illinois Wolves 17U have no practices the next two weeks so we can concentrate on finals. This will give me time to work out harder at Orthosports and get some extra shooting in at the YMCA.

I have some tournaments to play in with Neuqua during June like the North Central College Shootout, the Riverside Brookfield Tournament, and others. Those tournaments will help us get used to our new team chemistry as we play more with the incoming juniors at Neuqua.

As for recruiting, I am getting a lot of interest from schools in the MidAmerican, Horizon, Missouri Valley and Patriot conferences. I have also been hearing from Mid Majors like Davidson, Dayton and Rice and High Majors, Minnesota and Oklahoma. Ivy League schools like Yale, Princeton, Columbia and Dartmouth are very intersted because of my academics. I am hoping to have a good July travelling with the Wolves and turn the “interest” into “offers”. I’ll let you know how things look in a month.
