West Aurora’s Justin Cerasoli, the #2 ranked Class of 2004 basketball prospect in the state of Illinois, has given a verbal commitment to play basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates. Cerasoli’s stock skyrocketed this summer while he played on the AAU circuit with Ft. Sooy.

Cerasoli, a 6-4 point guard, will join a Seton Hall team that already has somewhat of a Chicago flavor. Former Chicago Marshall star Kelly Whitney, a 6-8 sophomore, led the team in rebounding a year ago. Cerasoli played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Providence St. Mel, and former St. Mel coach Billy Garrett is an assistant coach with the Pirates.

Cerasoli will likely be Seton Hall’s #1 recruit this year, and will have a chance to start immediately since star point guard Andre Barrett is a senior. Cerasoli has also emerged as a solid candidate to be selected to play in the McDonald’s All American game.
