Chipola (FL) College, one of the elite Junior College programs in the United States, has landed Demetrius Evans and Ryne Hamblet of Chicago Von Steuben. Evans and Hamblet both rank among the top Class of 2004 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois. Chipola ranks second in the nation in sending players off to Division I schools.

Evans, a 6-4 small forward, is known for his strength, and his stunning athleticism. He is the best leaper in the state of Illinois. After watching Evans put on a dunking exhibition, three different college coaches remarked that they felt he could compete in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest……..Right Now! Evans figures to be in high demand among schools after he polishes his skills in junior college.

Hamblet, who stands 6-5, is both long and athletic. Hamblet, one of the most versatile players in Illinois, can easily swing between the 1, 2 or 3 spots on the court. He also figures to be in high demand after finishes his career at Chipola.

Chipola is a big time junior college program with a long history of pumping out All-American players. Next year, the Indians will feature 6-6 power forward Mario Boggans, a transfer from Florida and former McDonald’s All-American.
