Hales, Latin and Manley Legit Class A Contenders
Chicago Hoops February 7, 2003 Hales Franciscan, Latin and Manley are three teams from the city of Chicago with legitimate chances to win the Class A state title. Hales is probably the best chance for a Chicago team to win it all in Class A. Being in the Catholic North Conference, they have played a rugged schedule of Class AA teams. They are led by 6-3 sophomore small forward Nate Minnoy, and 6-2 junior point guard Jerod Haynes. Minnoy, a powerful presence in the paint, figures to create big problems for Class A foes. Latin has been led by 6-7 senior small forward Mike Rudoy. They have been tough all season long, and have lost just twice. 7-2 junior center Kenny George will also be a factor. Like Hales, Manley plays a rugged conference schedule of Class AA foes. Competing in the Public League Red-West Division, Manley played against powerhouses Crane and Farragut. Senior guard Herbert Windfield, a terrific offensive player, will lead the Manley attack. |
