Homewood-Flossmoor power forward Cyrus Tate has made a commitment to play basketball for Rob Judson and the Northern Illinois Huskies. Tate becomes NIU’s fourth recruit for the Class of 2004.
Tate, a 6-7 power forward, was the highest ranking post player still left on the board until he committed to the Huskies. Tate is a strong rebounder who likes to bang inside. He should make for a nice fit within Northern’s aggressive defensive-minded system.
Tate is part of a Homewood-Flossmoor team that ranks among the best in the state of Illinois. He teams with 6-8 Julian Wright, and 6-5 Brian Nussbaum to form one of the top frontcourt’s in Illinois.
