Superstar recruit Dorell Wright was genuinely excited about coming and playing basketball for Dave Leitao and the DePaul Blue Demons when ChicagoHoops.com sat down with him at a practice session for the EA Sports Roundball Classic.
Wright, a 6-8 guard/forward, says that his game is based on his athleticism, and that DePaul fans can look forward to him trying to do some of everything on the basketball court. Wright says that he feels small forward is currently his best position, but that he can also play shooting guard, and even bring the ball up the floor if necessary.
Wright says that he working on adding consistency to his jump shot, and is looking forward to getting more involved defensively as opposed to just relying on his athletic ability to get by.
Wright really likes head coach Dave Leitao, and describes him as laid back. He went on to state that his mom is from Chicago, and that he has a lot of family here which also factored heavily in his decision.
DePaul fans should be fired up about the addition of Wright. He is a player who loves to play above-the-rim, and will bring a tremendous amount of effort and energy to the team.
