Ellis Appears To Be On A Mission

Brian Stinnette
December 4, 2002

Westinghouse junior Jamarcus Ellis played like a man on a mission is leading his team to a season opening victory over Julian.

Ellis, a 6’4 guard/forward, is currently ranked the #7 Class of 2004 prospect in the state of Illinois by Chicago Hoops.com. Ellis entered the summer as one of the top three 2004 prospects in the state.

In leading Westinghouse to victory over Julian, Ellis scored 28 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked 5 shots. Ellis is the lone returning starter from last year’s team that won the state championship.

What makes Ellis special as a player is his versatility. He is a tremendous ballhandler and passer. When focused, he is very active rebounder and defender.

If his strong play continues, look for Ellis reclaim his position as one of the top three or four 2004 prospects in the state of Illinois.
