Chicago Harlan 7-footer Clay Holloway is set to return to action within the next week or so. Holloway, one of the top Class of 2005 prospects in Illinois, has already made a verbal commitment to play for Rick Pitino and the University of Louisville.

Holloway has been out since he had surgery to repair ligament damage in his left wrist during the high school season. Holloway is an intriguing prospect. He brings tremendous size and soft hands to the post. Prior to being injured this year, Holloway was making tremendous strides on the basketball court.

Holloway will add even more beef to an Illinois Fire team that already features 6-3 Nate Minnoy (Chicago Hales Franciscan), 6-7 DeAndre Thomas (Chicago Westinghouse), 6-7 Jeremiah Bryant (Chicago Harlan) and 6-8 Robert Eppinger (Rockford Jefferson).

Although he is not a finished product, Holloway has a chance to be outstanding down the road if he can stay healthy. Holloway’s Chicago Harlan team has a chance to make some real noise next season. In addition to Holloway, they expect to feature 6-7 Class of 2005 prospect Jeremiah Bryant, 6-5 Class of 2006 prospect Andre Gullens, and may also be adding 6-1 Class of 2006 point guard prospect Jabari Brown.
