Jannero Pargo Posts Big Summer In Bid To Keep Roster Slot With Lakers
Chicago Hoops July 28, 2003 Chicago native Jannero Pargo put up big numbers for the Los Angelos Lakers in the Southern California Summer Pro League. Pargo is looking to hold on to his roster slot with the “new look” Lakers. Pargo, a 6-1 point guard, averaged 18.9 points and 6.0 assists per game for the Laker’s during the Summer Pro League. Pargo, Kareem Rush and University of Illinois product Brian Cook teamed to give the Lakers a formidable trio. Last year, Pargo, who played his college ball at the University of Arkansas, appeared in 34 games with the Lakers. He averaged 2.5 points, 1.1 assists and about 10 minutes per game. The addition of all star guard Gary Payton could impact Pargo’s chances of making the team. Payton is slated to start at the point with Derek Fisher slotted as his backup. |
