Indiana University will visit today with the #1 Classs of 2005 prospect in Illinois, Julian Wright of Homewood-Flossmoor. Indiana is looking to build on the momentum they received after getting a commitment from 7-0 Class of 2004 center Robert Rothbart from California.
Wright, a highly versatile 6-8 small forward, is high on the 2005 recruiting priority list for Mike Davis and the Indiana Hoosiers. Indiana is expected to lose prized Class of 2004 recruit Josh Smith, a 6-9 small forward, to the NBA draft. Long, athletic and versatile forwards like Jared Jeffries, who led Indiana all the way to the NCAA championship game, are central to the system Mike Davis likes to utilize.
The recruiting war for Wright’s services is beginning to heat up. Illinois, DePaul, Kansas, Arizona and Duke also remain in the mix.
