Mahomet-Seymour’s Travis Leonard Looking To Break Out

Chicago Hoops
April 24, 2003

Mahomet-Seymour shooting guard Travis Leonard is looking to establish his position among the better Class of 2003 shooting guards in the state of Illinois.

Leonard, who stands 6-3, plays on the AAU circuit for Larry Butler’s Illinois Warriors. He averaged 8 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists per game last year for Mahomet-Seymour.

Leonard says the best parts of his game are his court perception, and his ability to shoot the basketball. A marksman shooting the basketball, Leonard was a Regional Champion in the state three-point shooting contest. This summer he is looking to improve his vertical jumping ability, and his overall athleticism.

Leonard is getting interest from Hawaii, Lehigh, Santa Clara, Montana and Marist College. Hawaii has already offered a slot as an invited walk-on.
