McBride Verbals To Illinois Chicago Hoops June 14, 2002 Springfield Lanphier shooting guard Richard McBbride has reportedly given the University of Illinois a vebal commitment. McBride ranks among the three best 2003 prospects in the state of Illinois. Last year, as a junior, McBride teamed with Arizona recruit Andre Iguodala to lead Lanphier to the state runner-up finish. McBride, a 6-3 shooting guard, averaged 18.2 points and 3.8 assists per game last year. He hit 49.5% of his his field goal attempts, and shot nearly 43% from beyond the three-point arc. McBride joins Warren Carter as 2003 verbals for the University of Illinois. Carter is a 6-9 power forward from Dallas, Texas.
