Peoria Central point guard Shaun Livingston and West Aurora point guard Justin Cerasoli are the only two Illinois players among the 40 finalists for the McDonald’s All American game. Livingston and Cerasoli are the ChicagoHoops.com top two rated Class of 2004 prospects in the state of Illinois.
Livingston, who stands 6-7, and Cerasoli, who stands 6-5 teamed up over the summer with Ft. Sooy to form arguably the top backcourt duo on the summer AAU circuit. Livingston has signed with Duke, but is being scouted heavily by a number of NBA teams. Meanwhile, Cerasoli has signed to play his college basketball in the Big East with Seton Hall.
This weekend the two will go head-to-head when defending state champion, and top-ranked Peoria Central battles Cerasoli and West Aurora. West Aurora also features University of Illinois signee Shaun Pruitt. Peoria Central counters with Northwestern signee Brandon Lee.
