Champaign Centennial Sharpshooter Trent Meacham Rising Fast

Brian Stinnette
April 25, 2003

Champaign Centennial Sharpshooter Trent Meacham is set to see his stock rise as a prospect. Meacham, one of the top shooters in the state, is poised to make a dramatic rise in the Chicago Hoops Class of 2004 prospect rankings.

Meacham, a 6-2 point guard, averaged 17 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds per game last year as a junior. He is known for his ability to shoot the basketball. Meacham drilled better than 50% of his three-point attempts last season.

Despite missing most of last year’s AAU circuit with an injury, Meacham is still getting solid interest from a number basketball programs. The list of schools showing interest in Meacham includes Nebraska, Southern Illinois, Ball State, Butler and a number of other mid-major programs.

Meacham led Champaign Centennial to a 17-10 record last season. They lost in the Regional Finals of the State Tournament to #1 seeded Lincoln. Meacham is playing the spring and summer AAU circuit with Iowa-based Martin Brothers.
