Trent Meacham’s Stock Continues To Soar

May 29, 2003

A month ago we told you that Champaign Centennial point guard Trent Meacham was a prospect who was rising fast. Now fresh off of an MVP performance at the Nike Memorial Day Classic, his stock continues to soar.

The 6-1 Meacham was brilliant in helping to lead Martin Brothers to the Nike Memorial Day Classic Championship. His passing and shooting touch gave his opponents fits all weekend long.

Meacham, one of the best pure shooters in the state, has long been on the radar screens of Kansas State, Ball State, Nebraska, Southern Illinois and Illinois State. Meacham told Chicago Hoops that he is now also being recruited by North Carolina State and Ohio State.

Thus far, the fast-rising Meacham has improved his stock as much as any other Illinois prospect this spring. Look for other mid and high major programs to try and actively get involved with Meacham as the summer rolls on.
