Former West Aurora star Michael Binns, who just completed a highly successful season at Brewster Academy Prep School, is getting lots of attention from Division I programs.
Binns, a 6-7 forward, has completed a highly successful season in which he helped to lead Brewster to a 22-6 record. Binns is currently being recruited by Valparaiso, Ball State, Central Florida, American, Wright State, South Alabama and Oakland University.
Binns was a standout at West Aurora during the 2002-03 season. His teammates included Dameon Mason (Marquette), and current stars Shaun Pruitt (Illinois) and Justin Cerasoli (Seton Hall). Prior to that, Binns was a standout performer at Chicago Whitney Young. His Whitney Young teammates included Marcus White (Connecticut), Dwayne Curtis (Auburn), Anthony Harris (Miami) and Andre Knox (Loyola).
Former Chicago St. Ignatius star Coley LeClair, and former Marian Catholic star Cedrick Middleton were also a part of this year’s Brewster squad. LeClair has committed to play Division I ball next year for American University.
