Lake Zurich’s Mike Kolze, a Class of 2005 prospect, is having a monster season for Lake Zurich. Kolze’s eye-popping numbers include dropping better than 80 3-point baskets on the season.

Kolze, a 5-10 guard, is averaging 26 points per game this season. He has scored 30+ points in games seven times this season, and also has had games of 46 and 43 points. Last year, as a sophomore, Kolze led Lake Zurich in both scoring and rebounding.

Kolze is working to improve his ballhandling and overall point guard skills. He plays on the AAU circuit with Mike Weinstein’s Rising Stars. Weinstein describes Kolze as a very sharp basketball player who is tough as nails on the basketball court. Kolze is strong, physical and an outstanding shooter.

Kolze will have every opportunity to enhance his collegiate stock this summer as the Rising Stars are once again slated to compete in some of the top AAU events in the country.
