Chicago Hales Franciscan’s Nate Minnoy is building a national reputation as an offensive force to be reckoned with. Minnoy, who plays on the traveling team circuit with the Illinois Fire, was the MVP of the Spiece Run-N-Slam over the weekend.
Minnoy, who stands 6-3, has successfully made the transition from the post to the wing. He is a devasting combination of strength and athleticism. He is extremely quick off of his feet, which makes him lethal on the offensive glass.
Minnoy told ChicagoHoops.com that the strongest part of his game is his ability to get to the rack. At the Spiece Run-N-Slam, defending 17-U Champion Philly MJC found out firsthand just how unstoppable Minnoy can be. Despite the presence of 6-7 wing Shane Clark, and 6-10 center Kenny Tribbett, the MJC defense was helpless against Minnoy and his relentless battering inside, and his drives to the hole.
Minnoy has developed into a more than capable ballhandler, and even spends time bringing the ball up the floor for the Fire. Minnoy says that he is working to improve both his lateral quickness, and his mid-range game.
Minnoys lists a number of schools that are currently vying for his services including Purdue, Seton Hall, Iowa State, Texas A & M and Mississippi. Minnoy got lots of attention during the NCAA’s contact period, and will see his list of college suitors grow even further if he continues his offensive domination on the AAU circuit.
