Nick Roberts, a 6-8 center from Indiana, has given Matt Painter and the Southern Illinois Salukis their first verbal commitment for the Class of 2005.
Roberts, who weighs 275-pounds, will definetely provide alot of beef inside when he arrives in two years. The Pendleton Indiana native is a true space-eater who is averaging better than 18 points per game this year. He should provide some interior protection for prized 2004 recruit Matt Shaw of Centralia.
Southern Illinois has been red-hot under first year coach Matt Painter. The Salukis are currently sporting a 14-2 record, including a perfect 8-0 in conference play.
