Elite Prospects To Showcase Their Skills At Proviso West

Some of the top basketball prospects in the state of Illinois will showcase their skills at the Proviso West Holiday Basketball Tournament. Julian Wright (Homewood Flossmoor) and Jon Scheyer (Glenbrook North) the top-ranked Class of 2005 and 2006 prospects respectively, will headline the event.
In addition to Wright and Scheyer, Proviso West will also feature the Hillcrest backcourt duo of Jerel McNeal and Maurice Acker. McNeal is currently ranked the #5 Class of 2005 prospect in Illinois, while Acker checks in at #19. Angel Santiago (Chicago Von Steuben) and Brandon Ewing (Chicago Julian) will also be on hand. Santiago is the #6 Class of 2005 prospect, and Ewing Currently rates #14.
Three Northern Illinois basketball recruits, Cyrus Tate (Homewood Flossmoor), Zach Pancratz (Schaumburg) and Craig Reichel (Schaumburg), will give Husky fans a glimpse at their future. Gordon Watt (Evanston), a Boston College recruit, and Sterling Williams (Chicago Whitney Young), a Northwestern recruit, will also be in action. Uncommitted Class of 2004 shooting guard Vince Humphrey (Fenwick) is another player to watch.
Other standout prospects slated to compete include Demetrius Evans (Chicago Von Steuben), Ryne Hamblet (Chicago Von Steuben), Phillip Perry (Proviso East), Marcus Green (Leyden) and Aaron Jimenez (Leyden).
