Wabash Valley C.C. Adds Josh Thomas To Their 2017 Recruiting Haul


Head coach Mike Carpenter and Wabash Valley Community College have now added former Chicago Simeon standout Josh Thomas to their 2017 recruiting haul.

Thomas, a 6’3 wing, is fresh off of a postgraduate season at Planet Athlete (AZ).

Thomas is a qualifier and will have three years of playing eligibility remaining following his freshman year at Wabash Valley.

Thomas joins UNLV transfer Zion Morgan (Chicago Kenwood), Cam Gross (Oak Park-River Forest) and Anthony Cameron (Chicago Hyde Park) from Chicago in Wabash Valley’s 2017 class.

2017 Evanston F Elyjah Williams Signs With Fairleigh Dickinson

Class of 2017 Evanston Township standout Elyjah Williams has signed to play his college basketball at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Williams, a versatile 6’6 forward, combined with Nojel Eastern (Purdue) and Chris Hamil to form one of the better trio’s in the state of Illinois.

Williams competed on the travel team circuit with Hoop Avenues Elite.

FDU competes in the Northeast Conference (NEC).

Illinois State Adds DeAndre Haynes As Assistant Coach

Illinois State head coach Dan Muller has added DeAndre Haynes to staff as an assistant coach.

Haynes was an assistant coach at Toledo this past season. Haynes was an assistant coach at Kent State for four years ahead of spending last season at Toledo.

Haynes was the Player of the Year in the Mid-America Conference while playing for Kent State in 2006. He will work with the guards at Illinois State.

UIC Transfer K.J. Santos Headed To Tallahassee Community College

UIC transfer K.J. Santos has decided on Tallahassee Community College (FL) as his new collegiate destination.

Santos, a 6’8 forward, averaged 7.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this past season as a freshman for UIC.

Santos is a native of Geneva, Illinois.

6’10 2017 East St. Louis C Jeremiah Tilmon Signs With Missouri

Class of 2017 East St. Louis High School standout Jeremiah Tilmon has signed to play his college basketball for head coach Cuonzo Martin and Missouri.

Tilmon, a 6’10, 235-pound center, ranks among the top post prospects nationally in the 2017 recruiting class.

Tilmon was signed to play at Illinois ahead of deciding to again open up his recruitment following the firing of head coach John Groce.

Tilmon will join a Missouri recruiting class that will also include Michael Porter Jr., the top-rated prospect in the country.
