Barrington’s Jason Richard’s Rates With Best Point Guards

Brian Stinnette
June 23, 2003

Barrington point guard Jason Richards rates as one of the better Class of 2004 point guard’s in the state of Illinois.

Richards, who stands 6-1, is a player who is steady, consistent and capable of putting the ball in the basket. Last year, as a junior, Richards was one of the highest scoring point guards in the state.

Richards told Chicago Hoops that he views his ability to shoot the basketball as his strongest attribute. He is working on his handle, and his ability to beat his man off of the dribble. Richards mentions Johnny Reibel (Hoffman Estates), Bryan Mead (Hoffman Estates) and Zach Pancratz (Schaumburg) as his toughest foes within his conference.

Richards is drawing interest from a number of mid-major college programs, and could really put himself on the map with a strong month of July. July is when colleges can once again hit the road and evaluate prospects. Richards has been invited to the presigious ABCD All-American Camp.
