E-Rob Shows Production With Minutes

Chicago Hoops.com
November 21, 2002

Last week Eddie Robinson was openly showing dissatisfaction with the number of minutes that he was playing. This week, with extra minutes of playing time, Robinson is showing the talent that caused the Bulls to target him on the free agent market in 2001.

Robinson came off the bench to score 15 points and grab 5 rebounds in 33 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to Sacramento. Last night, Robinson scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 28 minutes in a loss to Golden State.

The high energy Robinson is capable of causing major problems for the opposition on both ends of the floor. Robinson must make better use of his length and athleticism on defense if he wants to continue to log major minutes.

Depth is critical to success in the NBA. Robinson was huge off the bench for Charlotte during the 2000 playoffs. This year’s Bulls bench with Robinson, Donyell Marshall, Jamal Crawford and Lonny Baxter is their best since the Jordan years. A healthy Robinson will go a long way toward keeping the Bulls bench competitive with the rest of the league.
